Yes, it does send MMC via USB and/or MIDI. So you'd connect the DM2000 to the PC via MIDI (both into the PC and back out to the DM2000, if it needs to be updated with wherever in the song you are, or if it needs that info to light certain buttons or whatever). I did, however, see a USB port and a MIDI input and output in a photo of the DM2000 on Sweetwater's site. I don't see anything on Yamaha's specs page about either a USB or MIDI out from the DM2000, and that's what you'd need to control CbB. But either way, you'd need to electronically connect the DM2000 to the PC via USB or MIDI In (and almost certainly Out). (The USB port will appear to be a MIDI port in CbB.) If that didn't work, you could use CbB's ACT feature to create your own control surface. You'd then point that control surface to whichever "MIDI" In Port and Out Port the DM2000 is connected to. So you'd connect the DM2000 to the PC via MIDI (both into the PC and back out to the DM2000, if it needs to be updated with wherever in the song you are, or if it needs that info to light certain buttons or whatever).Īssuming the DM2000 sends MMC via the USB and/or MIDI, you'd set CbB either to use one of the Mackie templates or the "Cakewalk Generic Surface" as the Control Surface in the Preferences, once the DM2000 is connected to the PC. I have!I don't see anything on Yamaha's specs page about either a USB or MIDI out from the DM2000, and that's what you'd need to control CbB. I feel like I've been at this for days now. I am trying to get the transport controls of my Yamaha DM2000 to control Sonar and it is being VERY stubborn. How do I configure Cakewalk/Bandlab Sonar to RECEIVE MMC (MIDI Machine Control)? I am using Sonar X3 but I'm sure setup would be similar in the Bandlab version.
